Why TopShelf

Most bars settle. Yours doesn't have to.

Instagram only, a website nobody updates, a friend's favor, or a template you build yourself. Here's what each one really gets you, and what you get with us instead.

Sound familiar?

Where most Austin bars are today.

None of these are bad choices. They just leave guests, bookings and search traffic on the table.

Just Instagram

The most common setup on Sixth and Rainey.

  • Google rarely shows Instagram posts when someone searches "bars near me" or "happy hour Rainey Street"
  • Hours, menu and directions are buried in highlights or a link-in-bio
  • No way to take a private event inquiry except a DM someone forgets to answer
  • The algorithm decides who sees your post, not you

The old website nobody updates

Built once, years ago, then forgotten.

  • Wrong hours and last year's menu send guests somewhere else
  • Slow and hard to use on a phone, which is where guests look
  • Nobody knows the login, so nothing gets fixed
  • Google quietly ranks it lower every month it sits still

"My buddy built it"

A friend, an old employee, a nephew who's good with computers.

  • A great favor until they move, get busy or stop answering
  • The domain and logins are often in their name, not yours
  • Nobody to call at 4pm on a Friday when the specials change
  • Usually no search setup at all, so the site exists but nobody finds it

Wix or Squarespace yourself

Cheap software, expensive time.

  • You become the web team on top of running the bar
  • Templates look like hundreds of other sites
  • Search setup, speed and photos are all on you
  • It's only as current as the last night you had time to update it

A restaurant website platform

Monthly software built for restaurants.

  • Built around online ordering, not events, DJs and bottle service
  • Shared templates, so your site looks like the platform's other customers
  • You pay every month, but you still do the updating
  • Support is a ticket queue, not someone who's been inside your bar

TopShelf Studios

One local studio that handles all of it.

  • Custom website built around your bar
  • Found on Google and AI search
  • Welcome photo and video shoot at your venue
  • QR menus, table tents and guest list capture
  • Same-day updates by text
  • You own everything

The difference

We work inside the bar, not just online.

Most web designers never set foot in your venue. We shoot your photos there, put QR menus on your tables and run the slides on your TVs. Your website, your room and your Google listing finally tell the same story.

Fair questions

What owners ask us.

We already have Instagram. Isn't that enough?

Instagram is great for regulars who already follow you. New guests start on Google and Maps, and Google rarely shows Instagram posts for searches like "bars near me." Keep posting. We make sure the people who don't follow you yet can find you too.

My friend builds our website for free. Why pay?

Free usually means it gets done when they have time, and the domain and logins often end up in their name. With TopShelf you own everything, and changes go live the same day you text them.

Can't I just build it myself on Wix?

You can. The question is whether you want to be the bar's web team on top of everything else. Our plans include the design, photos, search setup and every update, so you never have to log in.

Is it really worth the money?

Plans start at $149 a month. A single private event or a busy happy hour from new guests who found you on Google can cover months of that. Our case studies show the real search numbers from bars we work with.

What if I want to leave?

After the 6-month minimum, you can cancel anytime and the site is yours to keep.
